Planning a change to your home or yard? Here’s how to prepare an architectural request for Retreat at Mill Creek and send it to GCM for review.

What to include for your project.
These notes summarize GCM’s documentation guidance. Your community’s covenants and the application determine the requirements for your request.
Fences
Show property lines and fence placement, with dimensions, gates, material, style, and finish. Include a survey, drawing, and example photo. GCM asks for a neighbor’s written permission when connecting to their fence.
Exterior paint & roofing
For paint, identify the manufacturer and colors, provide samples, and show which surfaces receive each color. For roofing, include product details, a photo or product link, and note changes from the existing roof.
Landscaping & tree removal
Identify plant types, quantities, and placement. For tree removal, show the trees and locations in photos and explain what will happen to the affected area.
Decks, patios, additions & other structures
Include a description, property survey, and plans with dimensions and placement. Show the existing condition and proposed result, with materials and finishes.
Play & recreational equipment
Include equipment photos and show its proposed location. Check the community documents for restrictions before choosing equipment.

The neighborhood’s linked application lists acc@georgiacminc.com for email submissions. Use the association name The Retreat at Mill Creek Subdivision, Inc. and include your property address.

Watch for a response
Keep your submission and any replies together. If you need to confirm receipt, ask about timing, or update your plans, contact GCM’s architectural team at acc@gcmmgt.com.
A few common questions.
What does ARC mean?
ARC stands for Architectural Review Committee. GCM also uses ACC when referring to architectural change requests.
Which form should I use?
Use the architectural change PDF linked from GCM’s Retreat at Mill Creek community page. This guide links to that same application.
Can I start work after submitting my request?
Section 5.06 requires written approval for work subject to architectural review; Section 5.09 also contains a 30-day deemed-approval provision. Submitting a request alone does not establish approval. Confirm your request’s status with GCM before starting.
How long will the review take?
Covenants Section 5.09 calls for action within 30 days after receipt of plans submitted as provided in the Declaration, and says failure to act within that period is deemed approval. Keep receipt records and confirm how this provision applies to your request with GCM before scheduling work.
Is architectural approval the same as a building permit?
No. The application makes homeowners responsible for required permits, code compliance, property lines, and inspections. Check the applicable local requirements for your project.
